More Than a Fishing Tournament

Upon learning about the devastating wildfires in Maui in August 2023, the 1547 team felt a strong desire to make a meaningful impact while attending PTC'24 in Hawaiʻi, with the goal of supporting Maui in its recovery efforts. During a visit to Hawaiʻi in October 2023, our executive team embarked on a fishing excursion, igniting the inspiration for a charity-centered fishing tournament.

Four years later, the Aloha Fishing Tournament is one of the most anticipated gatherings of PTC week. Every dollar raised supports the Chamber of Commerce Hawaiʻi IT Sector Partnership, advancing technology education and building local pathways into the digital infrastructure careers that power Hawaiʻi's connected future.
